Whilst we have not yet photographed this species here at Claire Cottage we rate our two sightings as very positive sightings. For the Jan 2022 sighting I had time to count the 5 silvery-white markings on the upper-side of its dark brown fore-wings for this female and I checked the underside of the hind-wings confirming the wing markings to bear a close resemblance to the Chequered Grass-skipper in colouration but lacking the 3 central large markings. Unlike the Chequered Grass-skipper this butterfly lacked any of the lighter orange/brown zones found on the female of that species.
This butterfly is recorded as usually living between 900 m and 1600 m in NSW. Here it was sighted at around 750-775 metres.
