Flight habit: Nocturnal - Active at night.
Adult Moth: Colour dark brown with large lighter areas,
Size at rest - tip of thorax to tip of forewing: 37mm; tip of forewing horizontally to tip of other forewing: ??mm
Mature larva: length - ??mm.
Colour forms: Final instar: a green form and a brown form
Eye Spots: 7 half-eyespots along each side of the body. The spots are the top half of a white circle which half surround a black spot with a black semicircular line outlining the semi circle.
Other distinguishing features: Just below the 7 half-eye-spots is a yellow line stretching the full length of the larva.
Dorsal Horn: Brown or Red, short, thick, and backwards curving.
