Orange-tipped Pea-blue Everes lacturnus
Wingspan: 22 mm - 23 mm
Sighted: January-February
Foodplant: Desmodium heterocarpon (north from Sawtell - uncommon).
As we find newly emerged adult specimens here it may be feeding on an unrecorded foodplant possibly; Desmodium brachypodum NSW common or D. nemorosum uncommon only found north from Forster or D. rhytidophyllum common on stony & sandy soils or D.gunnii common or D. varians common.
Larvae may occasionally be attended by a few ants.
Similar species: Spotted Pea-blue which has less orange on the hindwings and shorter tails.
