The following larvae photographed by Dick Whitford were feeding on a Leichhardt tree (Nauclea orientalis).

Flight habit: Nocturnal - Active at night.
Adult Moth: Size at rest - tip of thorax to tip of forewing: 60mm, tip of forewing to tip of other forewing 55mm.
5th instar mature larva: length - 100mm.
Colour forms: 5th instar: Green, Brown, Orange and Green over laid with Brown.
Eye Spots: 5th instar - a Blue & White eye-spot on the metathorax (close to the head).
Other distinguishing features 5th instar: Pale diagonal stripes along both sides (clearly visible in the brown form) with a pale body length line above them.
Dorsal Horn 5th instar: Backward-curving pale brown in final instar.
Pupa: Formed under leaf litter below food plant.
Breeding season in FNQ - not confirmed but thought to be all year
